Easter Continues

Easter Sunday Celebration: The season begins with the joyous celebration of Easter Sunday, marking the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Catholics attend Mass, where special liturgies and hymns celebrate the triumph of Christ over death.

Extended Easter Vigil: The Easter Vigil, traditionally held on Holy Saturday evening, is a significant liturgical event where new members are baptized into the Catholic Church. This vigil often extends into the early hours of Easter Sunday, with multiple readings from the Bible and the lighting of the Easter candle symbolizing Christ as the light of the world.

Participation in the Sacraments: During the Easter season, Catholics may participate more frequently in the sacraments of the Eucharist (Holy Communion) and Reconciliation (Confession) as a means of deepening their spiritual renewal and connection to the resurrection.

Reflecting on Resurrection Themes: Throughout the Easter season, Catholics reflect on the significance of Jesus' resurrection and its implications for their lives. This may involve reading Scripture passages related to the resurrection, attending special lectures or talks, and engaging in personal prayer and meditation.

Fasting and Feasting: While Lent is a season of fasting and penance, Easter is a time of feasting and celebration. Many Catholics continue to abstain from fasting during the Easter season, enjoying festive meals with family and friends.

Acts of Charity and Service: Inspired by the resurrection of Jesus, Catholics may engage in acts of charity and service to others during the Easter season. This could involve volunteering at local shelters, visiting the sick and elderly, or participating in parish outreach programs.

Continuing the Celebration: The Easter season culminates with the feast of Pentecost, which commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. Throughout the 50 days, Catholics continue to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, attending Mass and participating in other liturgical events with a spirit of joy and gratitude.

I’m Lori Balderas, I created this podcast for those who are converting, reverting or simply want a FRESH perspective of the Catholic faith to help them to open their hearts and minds to become closer to the love and goodness of Christ.

I converted to Catholicism at the age of 49.  It was, by far, the best decision I’ve ever made! I don’t claim to be an expert or Theologian, but what I DO know is that my heart is bursting with love for the Lord and I want others to feel the same way!

I feel impassioned and drawn to Evangelize people by sharing my experiences and transformation that have gotten me where I am today.

I will be sharing my personal conversion story and speaking with others about theirs.
